Key Takeaways:

Hello all

I want to share with you my experience of searching for schools. We were searching for schools since Nov 2018, the heads of schools kept giving us hope and slowly start with :

We would try – I was ok

We want the mother to shadow till the child is adjusted – I was ok

We want an assessment report – I was ok

Alongside we were working with concepts and also academics. So, he was picking up on that front as well. His awareness also kept improving and he kind of started understanding this whole rigmorale.

Assessment came as

General IQ – good

Reading level – around 7 years

Spelling around 5 years.

Language comprehension and communication at 4 and a half.

Which I felt was ok as the kid is around 6.

But when we went back to schools they were very reluctant and were trying to give more brackets, names, and tests to the kid.

The thing is, though we think kids may not get it all, they do. They understand it all. So finally I stopped trying on these big named international-styled schools. As I realized that over the years they have become more commercial and corporate rather than Academic Institutes.

I went back to my roots, kid may not immediately like it, but once he makes friends, I am sure he will do good. I am taking him back towards Dilsukhnagar etc, finding a cozy school with the ground and traditional teaching methods. Hoping to work on his language first.

Go for an assessment before going to school. If your kids are not aggressive, most sensitivities are solved and don’t need any special medical care, consider simple schools nearby. So that we can support them if required. Concentrate on your mother tongue language first, rest will follow. Keep a schedule and keep them engaged.

Hope this helps some parents or kids!
